Lick is proud to be a Certified B Corp™

The ‘B’ in B-Corp stands for benefit and that’s exactly what we intend to do; benefit people and the planet, by doing business better. It’s been the driving force behind our mission from day one: to help people transform their homes with respect to our collective home, Planet Earth.

“Becoming a B Corp wasn’t a milestone we decided to chase later,  it reflects how we built Lick from day one. We always believed if we were going to create a new kind of decorating brand, it had to be responsible by design.”

"For me, being a B Corp means we can create beautiful spaces and feel good about what’s behind them too. It’s not just about picking a lovely shade,  it’s about knowing the paint aligns with your values as well. You shouldn’t have to compromise on creativity to make responsible choices."

"When we started Lick, we talked a lot about building a business we’d be proud of in 10 years’ time. The B Corp standards gave us a structure to turn that ambition into something measurable."

Our 5 key pillars

Workers

Workers

What is working for a B Corporation™  like for our team? From the office, to the warehouse, to our Northcote road store - it means earning a fair living wage. It means generous holidays and flexible working hours. It means being able to work from home when you want to and taking a break when you need to. It means being a part of a team of decor enthusiasts, committed to making the world and our homes a better place.

Environment

Environment

Being a Certified B Corporation™ means upholding rigorous eco-credentials for all our products. Everyone person in the Lick team is committed to our B Corp mission and as such, we put the planet at the heart of every decision we make. From the materials we use to produce our products to the partners we choose for brand collaborations and reducing waste when it comes to our photoshoots.

Customers

Customers

Our mission is to give our customers confidence to decorate and choose colours they love. From our dedicated support team who are on hand to share professional decorating advice to our one-to-one colour consultations and always on social inspiration and support. By helping customers choose colours they love, not just now but for years to come, we can also help reduce waste and save them time and money.

Community

To date, we’ve donated 14 million litres of clean drinking water to communities in Cambodia. Locally, we’ve partnered with UK charities including Campaign Against Living Miserably to encourage conversations around mental health. Local neighbourhoods or worldwide, we’re part of the global movement to use our business as a force for good.

Governance

Governance

We consider our stakeholders in every decision we make and we put Planet Earth at the top of the list. It’s why we became a member of Sedex, the world’s leading ethical trade membership platform—to ensure that you and all of our partners have full visibility across our supply chain, improving our business practices and working conditions for all. It’s also the reason why we signed the Better Business Act, a coalition of over 1500 companies campaigning for a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all.

We scored 85.7! We plan to keep growing in harmony with the evolution of social and environmental standards. It’s a commitment to doing business differently, building purpose and responsibility into every decision we make.
